This Week's Direction
The Pause that Clarified Our Direction
We took a brief “beginning of summer” pause to reflect on what Frenchitivty has become as it evolves to meet us where we are and to meet our fellow families where they are. Frenchitivity helps families become more intentional—through travel, curiosity, and meaningful shared experiences.
As we looked back over the first four countries and the conversations we've had with so many thoughtful families, we realized something important: we are not just documenting travel anymore. We are uncovering the deeper reason we were drawn to this journey in the first place.
Why do we care about living a more fulfilled life? Because the only antidote that I know to that low lying anxiety…that push, that perfectionism alongside the goal of quieting that chatter in our minds….is alignment and flow. And, that alignment only comes with living a values based, aligned, fulfilled life.
More quiet, less noise.
More quality, less rushing.
Discipline.
Defining self care as bedtimes, quiet times, saying “no” and continuing to refine and live by our values – in the midst of a busy, beautiful life.
Yet, mining for these gems can be hard and potentially lonely as new boundaries are developed, prioritizing self, within community. It is a unique and careful balance.
My desire is to be truly seen and heard and to see and hear others. To cut though the noise and be surrounded by people that create a feeling of safety and being known.
Playfully and curiously answering the questions that arise - What do we expect? What do we need? What is that intersection?
Our hope is to gather those that feel the same.
I am currently reading “Big Life” by Elizabeth Gilbert, searching for inspiration in this season of life, and this quote resonated with me deeply:
“And you have treasures hidden within you—extraordinary treasures—and so do I, and so does everyone around us. And bringing those treasures to light takes work and faith and focus and courage and hours of devotion, and the clock is ticking, and the world is spinning, and we simply do not have time anymore to think so small.”
“Big Life” by Elizabeth Gilbert
Let's bring our treasures to light, intentionally. Thank you for allowing me to write from my heart - to identify through these experiences that if connection is what we crave, then clarity comes first.
Tell me something that you are craving, or curious about. I read every response and would love to know what our community is experiencing.

🎧 The Frenchitivity Podcast: Before We Continue Around the World
This week on the Frenchitivity Podcast, we're pressing pause before our next chapter.
Rather than jumping straight into Thailand, we're looking back at the first four countries of our journey and asking a different question:
What did they actually teach us?
Not just about travel...
...but about family.
About slowing down.
About fulfillment.
About the kind of life we want to continue creating.
In this episode, we reflect on:
-
How Portugal taught us how to embrace the enormity—and uncertainty—of leaving everything familiar behind.
-
How Greece showed us the beauty of slowing down long enough to form genuine connections with people whose kindness became part of our story.
-
How Croatia reminded us that the greatest gift of the holiday season is found in uninterrupted time together as a family.
-
How Malta revealed that holiday's are not defined by where you celebrate, but by who you're fortunate enough to celebrate it with.
The conversation concludes with one of the questions we are asked most often:
"What was it really like to spend 10 months together as a family, 24 hours a day?"
And we share where we're headed next—not only geographically, but as a family and as a community.

🌱 Looking Ahead...Something New is Coming
As we continue around the world, you'll continue seeing three kinds of stories from us:
✈️ Reflections from our family's journey
🎙️ Conversations with thoughtful families creating intentional lives
🧭 Practical ideas to help all of us live with a little more curiosity, fulfillment, and connection—whether we're traveling or simply navigating everyday life.
Our hope is to inspire more intentional living.
Over the past few months, we've been asking ourselves a simple question:
If someone discovered Frenchitivity today, where would we invite them to begin?
We've been creating something to answer that question—a place where you'll be able to find our favorite podcast episodes, travel guides, Weekly Compass reflections, and the ideas that have shaped our family's journey.
More than a collection of resources, we hope it becomes a place that helps you feel inspired, encouraged, and reminded that there are many ways to build a more intentional life.
We'll be sharing it with you very soon.
Stay tuned...
🧭Compass Shift
This week, ask yourself:
What part of my life feels most aligned right now?
And gently follow it with another question:
What part of my life is quietly asking for more intention?
Sometimes clarity doesn't come from adding more.
Sometimes it comes from listening more closely.
✨ Closing
Thank you for being here.
Whether you've been with us since the beginning or you're just finding Frenchitivity, we're grateful you're walking alongside us.
We have so much we're excited to share in this next season.
