Living Life Without a Net
This week's podcast guest is an outdoor aerialist—taking our philosophy of living life without a net to a whole new level.
But what does it actually mean to live life without a net?
For us, it doesn't mean ignoring reality. It doesn't mean abandoning structure, financial responsibilities or the practical considerations of everyday life.
It means acknowledging all of those things—and sometimes choosing to take the leap anyway.
To take a risk without a guarantee.
To put faith in an idea, a practice, a business, a dream—or maybe simply in yourself—and see what happens.
There's something about stepping beyond what's known that asks different things of us. Curiosity. Tenacity. Trust. A willingness to be uncomfortable for a while.
And yes, it can be terrifying.
It can also be exhilarating, life-giving, exhausting and deeply rewarding—sometimes all at once.
There are plenty of good reasons to choose what's comfortable. We work hard to create security and stability in our lives, and there's real value in both.
And, we've also been fortunate to be surrounded by couples, families and individuals who have been willing to step beyond what was expected of them and explore what else might be possible.
Watching them has inspired us to keep doing the same.
Not recklessly. Not without thought or preparation.
But with a willingness to keep asking:
What might be waiting on the other side of comfortable?
For us, living life without a net means not knowing exactly where we'll land.
And, being willing to take the leap when something inside us says it's time.
With Gratitude,
Michelle

Living Life Without a Net: Outdoor Aerialist Shayla
What happens when the thing that makes you feel most alive exists completely outside the conventional path?
This week, we talk with Shayla, an outdoor aerialist and adventurer who takes her aerial practice beyond the studio—beneath bridges, among rock formations, above waterfalls and over open water.
But behind the breathtaking images is a deeper story about trusting yourself enough to explore what brings you alive—and building a life that makes room for it.
We talk about adventure and preparation, bravery and confidence, finding community, and how Shayla has created space in her life for a passion that continues to bring her fulfillment.
Her version of living life without a net may be a little more literal than ours—but the question underneath it feels universal:
What happens when you give yourself permission to explore the thing that makes you feel most alive?
