🧭 The Weekly Compass
A weekly dose of possibility and grounded action from Michelle & Kent of the Frenchitivity Family
This Week's Direction
For any sports fans out there, the Anaheim Ducks are in the playoffs—and this is a very big deal!
Our daughter was a baby the last time this happened in 2018.
And for our family, the Ducks have never been just a team.
Kent has been part of the organization since 2003.
It’s been part of our rhythm, our identity—our life.
So when we made the decision to step away last year and travel the world, it didn’t come easily.
But it was never about walking away from something.
It was always a step toward something.
Three weeks ago, we attended the last regular season Ducks game.
As we sat in our seats, taking in the energy, the lights, the familiarity of it all… something felt off.
At first, I couldn’t quite name it.
And then it hit me—
This was the first time I had ever sat next to Kent at a hockey game.
All the years.
All the games.
Home, away, intermissions, post-game…
I had always watched from a different perspective—while he was working, fully in it.
And now, suddenly, we were sitting there together.
Watching. Experiencing it side by side.
It felt surreal.
I didn’t even know what to say at first.
Should I ask him about the game? A player? A line change?
Or just let him be there… as a fan.
We watched.
We took it in.
And we both felt it—this quiet, meaningful shift.
Because when you love your work, it becomes part of you.
Part of your identity. Your family.
And to step away from that—even temporarily—takes something.
But coming back?
Coming back with new perspective, new energy, new awareness…
That’s something else entirely.
Now, we’re watching again—but with fresh eyes.
And what’s surprising me most are the small moments.
The simple ones.
Like sitting next to my husband at a hockey game.
We often ask our podcast guests what they leveraged to make their dream happen.
But there’s another question we haven’t asked—until now:
What did you do with the new version of yourself once you got there?
We’re living in that question now.
And it’s showing up in ways I never expected.

🎧 The Frenchitivity Podcast, Episode 17: Portugal Perspective
This week marks something new for us.
We’re beginning a series where we go country by country—sharing what we experienced, what we learned, and how we made decisions along the way.
Our first stop: Portugal.
In this episode, we talk about:
- Why we chose Portugal as our first European destination
- What it was actually like living there as a family
- What worked, what surprised us, and what we’d do differently
And we created something to go along with it:

Compass Shift
This week, try this:
Instead of asking,
“What’s next?”
Ask:
“What feels different now… because of what I’ve already done?”
You don’t always need a new path.
Sometimes, the shift is in how you experience the one you’re already on.
✨ Closing
If this resonated, forward it to someone who might need it this week.
And if you’ve recently come through something—
big or small—
Take a moment to notice what feels different now.
You might be seeing more than you realize.
